This is one woman’s experience with breast cancer. It is not intended to be and should not be taken as medical advice for anyone else. No two cases are alike. Always consult your own doctor before changing or beginning any medical treatment.
Diagnosis (4/23/2015): Invasive ductal carcinoma of left breast, Stage IIA, Grade 3, triple positive
Surgery (5/20/2015): Lumpectomy, 0/4 sentinel nodes positive
Chemotherapy (6/23/2015): 4 three-week cycles of modified TCH: Taxotere (docetaxel), Cytoxan (cyclophosphamide), and Herceptin (trastuzumab)
Radiation (9/30/2015): 33 treatments (5 days a week for 6.5 weeks)
Hormonal therapy (12/3/2015 - 4/6/2021): 5 years of daily Aromasin (exemestane) or Femara (letrozole)
Prednisone (1/1/2016): 2 months of treatment for unrelenting cough most likely caused by reaction/allergy to Herceptin during chemo treatments (this interrupted hormonal therapy)
